Is the internal light switch an existing one?

I ask because if so, it may not contain a neutral.

A black or blue wire doesn't always mean neutral.

The wire from the outside pir light is going to a light switch in hall as there is no plugs any where near
On the back of the light switch are terminals common, L1 and L2
I have earth brown and blue wires from light

The light switch on wall i am trying to fit to is an existing light switch

And what wires do you have at this switch?

Are there some wires in a separate connector block (other than earth)?

Light switch
Red wire - common
Red - L1
Black - L2
Black and Red wire in white terminal block

Thanks

Are the red and black joined TOGETHER in one single connector block?

Or are they each in a separate connector?

Without actually performing a test, it seems unlikely that you have a neutral there.

I would expect the two wires in the block to be lives, rather than neutral, for the simple reason it is very rare to ever use red for neutral.

It's very common to use black for a switched live though.

So you will have to do a few tests to confirm what the wires in the block are.

Out of interest, are earth wires present at the switch?

So i take it i have to test the red and black wires to confirm if they are live or not in the connector block
There is a earthe wire connected to the metal back box in the terminal with a screw.

Thanks

Don't forget if the wires in the block are not actually live, they could become live by turning switches on.

So be careful.

Do you have easy access above?

The light is fixed to a plasterboard wall above the wall is a artex ceiling with a ceiling rose in the middle.
Thanks

The two wires in the connector block WONT be live AND neutral, do you understand why that would be the case?
