Hi,

I have to wire my Rangemaster 110 Cooker.

Currently, it looks as if a 6mm2 twin & earth is supplying.

It's a gas cooker, with the sparks supplying the hotplate, and ignition for the gas burners.

Is a 6mm2 really necessary and if so, I guess that a Part P Elec has to fit?

Can somebody confirm please - I'd be grateful.

Thanks.

technically, I'd say it is a fixed appliance BAS.. it's hardwired in and is not moved during normal use..

it's like saying that the pendant light in the living room is not fixed because I can unscrew the wires from the ceiling rose..

I have one of these, it is powered by a 3 core cable into an ordinary plug.

Technically it's not, as it's not designed to be fastened to a support or otherwise secured in a specific location.

I don't move any of the following in normal use:

Dishwasher
Tumble drier
Washing machine
Microwave
Fridge/freezer
CD player
Record deck
Tuner
Amplifier
DVD player
Printer
PC
UPS

But none of them are fixed appliances either.

I expect the cooker can be moved for cleaning - it's probably got wheels which can be lowered.

It's not a fixed appliance.

Forget how things are supplied. Is the thing itself designed to be fixed to anything?
