Wiring for illuminated mirror

Hi guys, pick your brains if i can please

Disconnected an electric shower which had a mother of a cable connected to it from RCD. I want to replace entire length with a 1.5 or 2.5mm t&e @ the RCD to a 5A fcu located outside bathroom and run a 1.5mm cable from fcu to mirror.

Is that the best route or just pinch power from ceiling rose?

Just use the ceiling rose.

1mm² will be more than adequate.

Please be aware the 'ceiling rose' may or may not have a permanent live.

This will make a difference, as to whether you need the main light on for the mirror light to work.

Most mirror lights have a separate pull cord, so it's best to connect to a permanent supply.

If there's a big bunch of wires at the ceiling rose, chances are there will be a permanent live and neutral supply.

Assuming this is on a 1st floor bathroom in a 2 story house, even if there is not a permanent live on the lighting it highly unlikely there is not one elsewhere, such as in a junction box above the switch. However if you need to ask such questions I very slightly question if you should be taking on the task.

I expect the light will be double insulated, but there is also the issue of some lights in older houses not containing an earth.
