wiring of new light.

I have two cables, both have red and black with an earth cable. earth cables are ok but i need to attach my new light fitting but when i have it stays on and i can not turn it off. can anyone help.

I only have two cables the detail you have sent shows three. Two red two black and two earth.

Yes, your light is at the end of the chain.

So you only have the switch cable and one feed cable.
In the diagram, just ignore the connections for the cable on the right hand side (ie at 3 o'clock).

I've tried all combinations and no light at all. I don't h believe I can't sort this. What a pain.j

It doesn't matter apart from the switched-live should be sleeved red so you will know next time.
