Hi,
The house had a fireplace and chimney both were removed. We wanted a wood burner. We enlarged the original concrete fireplace base and put bricks down to create a hearth. We then built a concrete block chimney from the ground floor to the first floor. We then pushed a twin wall flue liner up from the ground floor into the remains of original chimney in the loft. We connected flue tubes from the back of the burner to the liner.
Can anyone help with any advice if how we have put the burner in is up to building and Hetas spec? Or refer us to easy to understand regulations.
Thanks.

Here are the regulations on combustion appliances, including wood burning stoves (free to download):

http://www.planningportal.gov.uk/buildingregulations/approveddocuments/partj/approved

Installation of a wood burning stove is notifiable to Building Control, and must be signed off by them. Otherwise it may not be safe, your house insurance may not be valid, and you could run into difficulty when selling the house.

Cheers
Richard
