I have a very ill fitting hardwood front door. As far as I can make out the frame has been measured to fit tightly into the brickwork and the door just hung into it with large gaps all the way round. The only way round it is to fit the correct size frame to fit a new 80 x 32 door. The problem is that the width of the frames I have seen for that size door are smaller than the opening. My question is what is the maximum gap I can have between frame and brickwork all way round and is the gap just filled with frame sealant to finish. If this makes any sense to anyone please help.
