worcester 350 boiler cutting out

I have a worcester 350 combi boiler which is fine running hot water and the pressure indicator states the pressure is fine, but I'm regurlarly getting an issue where it is cutting out for the central heating

The behaviour is that the ignition lights the gas and it runs for a while heating correctly but then cuts out, I hear the ignition trying to spark a number of times before the gas relights and then it runs again for a short period before the cycle happening again.

Some times this doesn't happen at all then at others it's happening every few minutes but it is reasonably regular

any help would be appreciated

This boiler is getting rather old!

I assume that you have never had the boiler properly serviced?

If not then I am surprised that you dont realise that having a boiler serviced is an important part of keeping it working smoothly.

My expectation is that its just a minor problem which would be cured by a routine service done properly.

For info the boiler was last serviced about a year and a half ago and is due a service which i'm about to arrange I just wanted to get a feel for the cause of the problem in advance to make sure I'm not led a merry dance for a fix

I do aim to get it serviced each year
