Hi doing a job for my friend last night, connecting his new system boiler up it's a y-plan but the 3-port valve is a old switchmaster which has 6-cores instead of the usual 5, my problem is the valve seems to be working fine but when i call for heat from the programmer once the valve opens the pump stops pumping, it works fine for dhw but not for heat. Any help would be much appreciated thanks

How about persuading your friend to spend another £60 and install a new Honeywell V4073?
Yeah its looking that way just wasn't sure if i had all connections correct, never seen a 6-core valve before either wondered if i had it wired correct cheers anyway.
