Worcester ICC2 Combi / Water softener

Hi Folks,
I wonder if any of you can clarify if it's OK to use a water softener with this boiler please? The is a single quote in the manual that states 'Artificially softened water must not be used in the central heating system.' Is this a general comment or a comment specific to this boiler? Ultimately, will I damage the boiler by running softened water through it?

It means don't use it to fill the radiators. Not that you can't use it through the hot water side which goes to your taps.

OK. Thanks, as far as my limited knowledge of the system goes the softener appears to be connected to the stopcock so it looks like ALL the water gets softened -I could be wrong!! Is this normal practise or a bodged job perhaps?
