Basically after someone shedding a little light on a problem I've got, my hot water works fine everytime, fan runs, ignites, everything is OK but the heating doesn't, I don't have a room stat so using the clock, it doesn't matter either way timed or just on, basically turn demand on fan runs it ignites but only runs for a few seconds then the flame seems to deteriate and the sparker trys igniting then it locks out, flashing red reset button, anyone any ideas??

Call an engineer. Simple problem to solve if it is what i think it is. But it is a gas related problem so we cannot give you advice on here im affraid. When was the boiler last serviced?

Not sure of last service, the burner has been cleared of debris by hoover, I was thinking a fan fault not pulling enough on lower (heating) speed?

I am a gas safe engineer, just don't have much experience with older boilers, possible gas rating on the gas valve?? ,

Get yourself registered in the combustion chamber then you can ask these type of questions till you heart's content
