Flueless gas fires are not an option for alot people people because of the bad talk about carbon monoxide poisoning from them.

But if installed correctly then there is nothing to worry about.

If you do your homework and get in a recommended gas installer who will install the fire correctly they are perfectly safe.

You can also buy a carbon monoxide alarm and put it in a desired place around of above the fire for that added peace of mind.

Seriously, flueless gas fires aren't as bad as people make out IF installed correctly.

If you ask Billy Joe Bloggs down the road to fit it for you for a favour then you are asking for trouble.

Get a competent gas installer in, and remember, if you pay peanuts, you will get a monkey!

But be aware they are usally only a low output ie 3kw or so were a normal fire is usally about 7 kw.
u need a 100cm3 vent in your outside wall which arent very attractive and draughty.

it must be a 2nd ry heat source because they generate alot of water vapour so if not used with central heating it can ruin your decoration.

plus there have never been proper stats calculated in this country/although some manufacturer claims state there totally safe(but obviously biased) on them so alot of gas people will not fit them.
So if u want one dont buy one at Band Q find a gasman first and take his advise.
Personnaly i wont touch them!

your only options is prefabricated flue or electric fire / stove.

Even better, a TV with flame video DVD and a electric heat blower.
