Hello,

wonder if someone can advise, the pilot light on the boiler keeps going off after a few hours sometimes the heating can run for a good 5 6 hours before the light goes out.

It's had a new thermocouple and ignition last year, any ideas please ? also the fan seems to be noisy as well.

it's a sime 80 boiler.

thanks.

Make that call......minimum call out charge should be around £300...

A sime Format 80 does not have a thermocouple so how you managed to change it is a miracle

Ok it's a friendly boiler not a friendly e.

is there such thing as a cheap thermocouple ? is a particular make or brand that is better ?

thanks.

We are not permitted to give advice on DIY gas work or to encourage anyone to do it.

The only correct advice here is to get a gas registered engineer to attend.

They are not very popular boilers with engineers! Many may not want to get involved in repairing and just recommend a replacement for your 20 year old boiler!
