Alarm C&K Securitech ST 800L

I have the above alarm which has been powered down for the past 10 months. I have no security code and wish to return to factory code with a view to install a new user code. Can you please tell me the process to enable system.

Restoring Code Defaults
1. Place the small link supplied with the spare fuses, on the memory link.
This is positioned above the volume control and is labelled “Memory
Default”.
2. Remove the mains and battery supply.
3. Wait a few seconds then re-connect the battery and then the mains
Refer to page 6 regarding initial power up. The speaker will emit the accept
tone and the factory user code defaults will be restored.
4. Be sure to remove the link .
user code 1234 eng code 7890 and dont forget to replace the battery depending on age.

Lol. I meant have you fitted a 700 or 800l ?

That is the way it would be phrased up here lol.

Is the 800 the same as the 700? The pcb not very well supported.

I have located the memory link. , but not sure where to find the 'small link' but have found one small item in box and wondering if this may be it .

If not where should i look or where can i find one. (sorry i am not an electrician)
