Ive recently carried out some internal work and had to remove a wired
sensor from the wall in order to board and plaster it. Today I re-fitted the sensor but the alarm wont turn on and wondered if anyone could offer any advice.

After replacing the sensor the alarm wouldn't turn on and the tamper light was flashing (not location light) so we entered the pass-code and pressed the reset button and everything seemed OK. Tried to turn the alarm on earlier but it still wont come on.

Any ideas?

EDIT: The alarm is a Veritas R8

By light up im assuming you mean the red light that flicks on and off? I dont recall seeing the light come on after it was replaced on the wall but will have to check. Thanks for the advice ;)

Sounds like you've blown the Aux fuse inside the control panel.

Only 1 of the cables came out of the sensor, the rest stayed connected. Is this enough to short the AUX fuse?

In simple terms, before you touched the detector, the LED worked.

After you touched the detector, the LED doesn't work.

Blown fuse.

How you did it is any ones guess, but, you did.
