Hiya

I need a door entry system that I can use as an intercom and release the door which uses cordless phones.

Ideally I would have liked to use something like the iDoorCam or SkyBell but the prices are ridiculous.

I am considering something like the DECT system http://www.responseelectronic...+listing+ads&gclid=CL71xbywn8ECFQcewwod-zsApA but would like to know if there are ny better options.

Thanks a lot

Not cheaper, but possibly better in that they allow you to use your own choice of DECT phone and use more 'standard' entry system components

Videx 380 phone interface

BSTL BT1 phone interface

An alternative is a small PBX such as a Panasonic, with doorphone interface card and doorphone, which will ring extensions.

This place has a range of wireless / DECT door entry intercoms:

Many thanks for the info. A PABX will be a bit overkill for my purposes but there are some other interesting options there. I will let you know how I get on

My neighbour has as a Videx system which from memory uses the Art380. Her problem with it is that if someone rings the gate bell when she is on the phone the Videx takes over the phone line, the person she is talking to thinks the call has been cut off and often hangs up.
