Premier 48 Zones, Areas, and Area Arm Suites

Hi. Premier 48.
I want to be able to arm just the downstairs at night.
All my zones are in area A, for the normal full arm.
I was going to put downstairs in "area B", so I can arm just that, but the manual states:
"If a zone is assigned to more than one area, it will only be
recognised by the system when all areas it is assigned to, are
armed."

..which I guess means that the above wouldn't work - downstairs would stay disarmed because those zones are also part of the full area, which is disarmed.

Do I have to separate the two zones, A = downstairs, B = upstairs, and then use "Area Arm Suites" to group the two zones together for the full arm?

Apologies if this is a dumb question. I've literally just had a quick look at the manual for the first time now.

I think I have the answer: part arm.
I thought the part arm thing would have me having to choose zones every time I tried to arm, but it's easier than that.

yes part arm .....lol use areas if your going to use it as a split system.
