Hi

Smoke alarm triggered a couple of days ago but now bleeps constantly every 30 seconds or so
There is no reset button (only a test button which you press and hold to trigger instant deafness)
There is no battery - appears to be wired into the mains.
Devise was installed when house built over 10 years ago.
No documentation/user manual.

What can we do - can't sleep!

As battery ones do this when the battery is low as a warning perhaps the mains supply to yours has been interupted, try checking the fuse box perhaps it's on a seprate circuit and the circuit breaker has tripped.
Best wishes,

There should be a replacable battery. Houses can catch fire when there is no mains power, especially if an electrical fault caused the fire and then tripped the MCB and/or RCD.

Or it may have a none replacable battery with a 10 year life making it necessary to replace the unit after 10 years. Which is always a good idea as some smoke sensors lose sensitivity as they get older.

Get a new one they are not too expensive to replace after 10 years.

Buy a good one and then do not need to replace it for another 10 years.
