Can I plug Satellite signal directly into a digital TV

As the subject says (and proves my ignorance of these things); I have a spare cable from my satellite LNB. Can this be plugged directly into a digital TV to receive the digital channels ? I obviously have no idea what comes out of an LNB so don't want to purchase a digital TV if this won't work.
All advice and information appreciated.

Assuming it is a SKY dish and pointing in the correct direction then yes but only if you buy a TV with FreeSat built in.

Nick answered your exact question correctly but, in case it's not obvious, you could use an ordinary TV with a separate satellite TV receiver. Second hand basic Sky digiboxes can be picked up very cheaply.
