headlight surface

I have a astra mk5 with headlight surface yellowing and have
been recommend to get a kit to restore the clarity
has anyone had this problem as it seems quite common
and what is the best best cleaner kit if they work

Try toothpaste first, rub it in with a cloth, apparently it works well if not try Meguires headlight restorer kit http://www.meguiars.co.uk/product/397/Meguiars-Headlight-Restoration-Kit/

I've used the headlight restorer kit, but not on a headlight. It was on a boat compass. Worked well, but you have to be careful not to gouge the plastic surface you're polishing with the hard plastic edge of the buffing mop they supply with the kit.

I had an older car with a cloudy headlight outer surface.

Tested a small area with clear varnish and it worked fine so did the lot!

There used to be something in a tube called acrillic polish. I never tried it though.

Hi if anyone who gave input to this topic happens to open it again I apologise for not thanking any of you, the fact is I have been relying on my email alert before logging back in, but along with many others they had stopped reaching me, had I checked I would have realised this, anyway many thanks I finished up having both replaced as they could have caused a mot failure. the difference to night vision is amazing.
