Hi does anyone know what the correct Bosch spark plug is for a 11 plate 1.25 petrol fiesta mk7 - looked on the euro car parts site and Halfords and it suggests HR 8 MCV+. I've tried the NGK TRB13B in my 09 1.6 petrol Ford Focus but they seem to have a black sooty deposit on them when I replace them.

The info for the HR 8 MCV+ says 'Electrode Gap(mm) 1.0, 1.3, Thread Length(mm) 25' so what is the gap - 1.0mm or 1.3mm?! When I go to the checkout on euro car parts it says that the spark plug is not the right one for the fiesta presumably because it doesn't recognise a 1.25 fiesta engine.

So in conclusion which is the right plug and gap for both the fiesta and focus?

Do you have the original user manual for your car?
it may help with the types of plugs and take it from there.

On my car the gap does slowly increase as I check the gap on the old plugs.
therefore I set them to 1mm. and when I take em out to replace them, they're 1.2mm, just in the range for my car (Nissan micra)
you could check the gap on the old plugs to check and decide the best gap when new

A sooty deposit on the plugs would worry me!

Too rich mixture etc.
