Kitchen boiler cupboard

Hello,

Is there a regulatory reason why the floor within a cupboard housing a combi boiler would need to be raised?

I'm going to be having the cupboard knocked down as the location is going to part of a larger kitchen utility room and wondered if this raised floor could be removed also.

Any help would be appreciated

I should maybe add that mains gas and water are coming up from the floor within this cupboard.

No unless there was something under the floor preventing it from going in the same level as the floor in the room.
