Can you build a shed under a car port?

It won't be a regular pop up shed, it will be properly studded out so it can be insulated and tiled inside.

The shed will have a purpose for grooming animals.

Plans are for water feeds, electricity to be hooked up to it, and waste water to exit the shed.

It will be built against the side of the house.

Is this allowed?

If you built a carport big enough, could you then build a house under it without planning permission?

Same answer

permitted car ports are up to 30 sq metre, open at two sides, and of limited headroom.

couldn't fit a house under mine.

p.s.

I have boxed in the end of mine to make a small cabin for the lawnmower and things.

But if you put your shed on wheels like a mobile home, or skids like a field shelter, you could store it inside your car port?
Wouldn't that be just like parking a caravan under it and running an electrical hook-up from the house?

Anyway, what's a shed? Coal bunker? Wendy house? Freezer? Tool store?

If the car port wasn't there you could put a shed up without permission, surely? Is there a rule that says permitted items must not overlap each other?

Just build your shed FFS. Bear in mind though that technically once you attach it to the house it requires building Regs approval.

If the animal grooming is for business puposes you should check your deeds to see if business use is allowed.

Names are irrelevant to planning, call it what you will they are all still development under planning regulations. Normally a shed would come under permitted development, by virtue of its size and location, but otherwise would need permission.

A carport ceases to be a carport once the sides are enclosed or other development is carried out beneath it preventing its daily use
