Is the size of eaves overhang required on a rear extension dictated anywhere in building regs? I've specified 300mm on all three sides on my plans, but due to some roofing/hip geometry it'd be far more convenient for me to have 270mm on the rear wall, and 300mm down each side.

Thanks

Gary

No, eaves are not structural, and you can have as much or as little projection as you like

Cheers woody - I thought it might be part of some rain/damp penetration regulations to shelter the side of the house from rain or something.

Its mainly aesthetics, and there are some practical advantages of a wide soffit, but as long as everything is watertight and insulated, then eaves don't matter
