Hi,

We've had planning permission for our ext; a wet room/utility with a bedroom in the roof above; we have a small difference in floor height between existing floor and the bedroom - 2" from board to board (going to carpet bedroom but the old floor will be as is T&G planks.) The door obviously opens into the bedroom - OH is concerned that there may be a reg that means he will have to extend the flooring through the doorway as a 'step' down at the door is not allowed.

Sorry if I'm not explaining this very well.

Can anyone shed some light on this please. Need to get the room finished as grandchildren coming at christmas.

Single steps at doors are not controlled under Building Regs. so no problem.

Thanks Tony,

It means OH can trim back and make good the doorway and then get on with Architrave and skirting tomorrow. Got keep cracking the whip....christmas is fast approaching.
