I have a wall round back of my house that is built of concrete block. It's in two sections, a small 4ft section from the house to the gate opening and then long 30ft section that butts up to the main boundary wall.
During the high winds in mid January (we had 112mph), the small section's mortar has cracked where it butts against the house wall and the section is a bit unsteady. We have temporarily blocked this off (thanks to Farmer John over the road lending some sheep hurdles :D) but I want to get this fixed nest week when I have a week off work.
Am I best to knock the small section down and rebuild from base up or can I get away with new mortar where it's cracked - would that just be a sticking plaster?

Many thanks

How high is the wall, does it have any piers and what thickness is it?

Wall is one block thick (around 200mm I would guestimate), no piers and is 4ft high (in places - the end at the boundary wall is higher where the garden dips away)
