Roughcast

I've just had an area where there was a door windowed and the bottom half bricked and roughcast. On one side where the new roughcast meets the old roughcast a fine hairline crack has appeared from top to bottom
Can anybody advise if this is serious and should be repaired

Not serious unless the crack opens up. If it's painted you could try repairing with a flexible liquid sealant. If it's natural finish you would have to increase the width of the crack to get sufficient surface area for it to have a chance of adhering. That will make a mess so if it were me I'd leave it alone.
