Hi - just had survey back on house I want to buy. It has solid concrete flooring across the entire ground floor. Can someone tell me the pros and cons of this over a timber raised floor?

Is it colder in the winter and how/is it costly to install new radiator pipes and wires between rooms (channel concrete out or box it in)??

Thanks
Kate

In practical terms (ie living in it), there are no differences

Any new radiator circuits will be dropped down from the first floor

It doesn't shake/has no movement in it which is great. It doesn't creak. They tend to be insulated slabs so I don't think thermally it is a problem. I would say though that our downstairs has a more regular temperature than our timber framed upstairs.
