Correct undercoat under solvent based eggshell

Hello,

just hoped someone could advise me which undercoat is best to use under solvent based antique cream eggshell paint.
I am painting new MDF architrave and skirting board through hall stairs and landing .
I would prefer to use a water based undercoat but won't if that is not the right one to use.
I have tried to get a definitive answer by researching online but it varies and was hoping that you experts might help !

You can use either underneath a solvent based topcoat. As long as its a solid coat the top coat of eggshell will be ok to go over it.
