Hi all, we have just had a fuel burner fitted and our room is painted cream. The guy that fitted it says it looks really nice if you paint a darker colour behind it for example shade of mushroom or similar which makes it really pop out. I cannot find any photo's online like this, they seem all to be the same. I do like the idea and wonder if any of you have done anything like this? Any photo's would be great, thanks

Haven't got a photo but agree with the suggestion. Apart from anything else it reduces the chance of the area round the fire looking grubby from the carbon.

I recommend masonry paint though, rather than just ordinary emulsion.

Thanks for reply, I like the idea so will start looking at samples.
