Hello all,
I have a garage door that needs re-painting. The person who lived in the house before has painted over the powder coated finish. It hasnt been done properly and the paint is just peeling off in parts. I want to take it back to the powder coat but just wondered if I applied some thing like Nitromors to get the more stubborn areas of the paint off would it damage the powder coated finish?
I have started scrapping the paint off and would probably be able to do the whole door but will take forever!

Thanks Chris

I would use a power sander for the large flat areas and use paint stripper in the hard to get places. Then give it a good wash down with soapy water.

Paint strippers like nitromores are absolutely hopeless since the VOC regs forced them to change.

Heat gun is the easiest way to strip a garage door
