Hi. I've tiled my kitchen, and unfortunately can't refit the cooker socket as there's not enough slack in the cable to reach the socket properly! Can I simply get some 6mm2 twin and earth and use connector strip inside the knockout box to extend by 10-15cm and make it possible to refit it? If so, do I have to enclose the connector strips in anything within the back box, as any junction boxes I can find rated at 32A seem far too big for that.

cheers

Yes, and you do not need to enclose the strip in anything else - the backbox is already a suitable enclosure.

Ensure the connectors can carry the current that can be used, i.e. don't use 5a strip :)

And ideally slide the wires in side by side into the connectors so that both screws hold both wires to ensure a sound connection
