Hi guys / ladies
I was hoping that someone could give me some advice to the following:
I have an electric oven (double) whick has a 4Kw rating
and a gas hob which i'm now replacing with an Induction hob, with rating of 7000 W
My circuit breaker to the cooker is an MK 230/400v B40 which I beleieve to be 40 AMP rating, can I connect both to the same supply with necessay adaptions sockets, with the above ratings or do I need to run a separate cable from consumer unit ( I really hope not) its going to be almost impossible.
please help
Kind regards
Joe

Normally the answer would be yes.

What one has to do is read the manufacturers data as to max supply allowed.

My standalone cooker is well over 32A but manufacturer still says use a 32A supply so just a case of read the book.

Is that the width?

Probably 6mm² then.

Depends on installation conditions whether it should be on a 40A device.
