Hello all,

The house that we rent has solar panels on the roof, now I've just noticed that the main electricity meter isn't moving?!

I have about the total of 500w of things running at the mo,

Is that right?

Could well be some of the old meters can run backward if more solar is being produced than energy being used.

This happens to a customer of mine with his windmill. He's told MP and they've been out a couple of times to site, but don't seem especially interested!

The panels might be covering the 500W hence the meter is not moving as you are not importing supply from the grid. Have another look when it's dark !

Could be right Paul, at around 6pm this evening I was generating just over 1kWh so if I was importing 500Wh then there would be an excess of 500Wh. This would make a meter stop, or go backwards at the same rate as it would forwards when importing 500Wh (if it was one that went backwards).
