Triton Madrid ii Electric Shower Not heating up

Hi, my shower is not heating up at all, water running ok but no matter what setting it is on still no hot water. any ideas please? Mike

Well, the water's running, so there's power for the solenoid, so if there's a neon, it probably is on.

Wasn't sure if this unit has a solenoid or not.

Light is on, i did notice that at one point the water did heat up very hot and as soon as i changed the temp it just stayed cold

Could be the thermal cutout then, these are meant to be self resetting. It depends how much you want to spend on this as a whole new shower only costs between £67 and £80 from argos.
Calling someone out to fix the old one will probably be a big chunk of this.

How would you know for definite that it is the cut out?

By testing it for a closed circuit with a multimeter (shower electrically isolated and multimeter set to ohms range). Should see approx 0Ω across the contacts of the thermal cutout.

I have just put shower on and turned it down to lowest temp, water went very hot and shower made like a boiling noise as if you had put a kettle on then went cold again. Turned it back to max temp and still cold.

Limescale possibly.

Sounds like the thermal cutout is doing it's job, maybe check for a restriction in the water flow such as cleaning the filter out, see page 17 here: http://www.tritonshowers.co.uk/media/1155151/madrid_2.pdf noting that it says it is for installers or service engineers only.
