Hello,
Got an area of around 4m x 4m floored with amtico.
It has got shoe/rubber marks on the floor.

What would be the best way to get these marks out? (I have uploaded a pic to my album)

Any help would be great,
Thanks

You can download the cleaning and maintenance guidelines here: http://www.amtico.com/commercial/technical-info

There are specific cleaners that Amtico will recommend for looking after are re-prepping the floors, they don't recommend using other manufacturers products and doing so will void any warranties.

Get yourself some Amtico floor stripper and dressing. Strip the floor and 2 coats of dressing. Should come up well.

Thanks for the responses,

I'm quite new to this DIY stuff,

How would I apply the stripper? Is there any tutorials etc?
I know there is likely to be instructions with the purchase of Amtico stripper etc but just so I know what im getting myself into beforehand. I don't want to end up wrecking the floor kind of thing haha.

My guess would be to use some kind of polisher or mop, and apply the stripper in a solution maybe, that should take the crap up? Then apply a coat or 2 of dressing? Or would I apply maintainer after stripping?

I really appreciate any help,
Thanks again

Best think to do is find a Amtico retailer near you and go get a Amtico cleaning kit.

You will need
the starter kit
Floor polish remover
Floor dressing

You then mop the floor with the rough cleaning pad with the stripper. You let it soak in for 5 mins then you work it in.

Then clean it all off with clean water and a mop

Then apply 2 costs of floor dressing.

If you get the kit you get a leaflet with how to do it, but its really just mopping your floor 4 times.

Thanks, Ive came across these 2 products on Ebay (there are no retailers close to me, I looked on amtico website.)

I'm thinking the second of the 2 would be a bit better to get? (its got the dressing etc) Only thing it doesn't have is the non abrasive pad, could I get them separate? (I tried looking but they all say abrasive pad)

Thanks, think Im getting the idea now :D

Yeah that's the stuff.

The pad is like the green / white pads that have a sponge on it that alot of people use to wash dishes.

So if I ordered

AND

That is all I would need to do the job, apart from a mop?

So what I would do is,
Apply the stripper once on the floor using a mop, let soak in for 5min, then use the pad on the end of the mop or get on hands and knees and rub the floor (is it just follow the grain of wood a few strokes and move on?).

Then clean all the stripper up using just water and a mop,

Then mop on the dressing (Do I leave the floor dripping wet with the dressing or do it asif I was cleaning the floor with a mop) 2 coats (how long to wait between coats)

Then thats it?

Depends how bad the marks are but it should get alot off.

When putting dressing on leave 1st 30min - 60min then 2nd coat over night.

Okay great,

Is the pad I found online (on the link) okay to use? And wipe it up and down the grain of wood a few strokes then move on to the next part?

Would I be correct in saying, giving the 30-60min drying time of the dressing that only mop the dressing on just so it wets the floor (not dripping)

Thanks :)

Put the polish on with a thin coat. You can put 3rd coat on if needed.

The pads looks ok to use. On stripping I just do it in sections scrubbing all ways. You don't let the striped dry on the Amtico. You can use it neat on bad scuff marks.

Oh so mop the floor quickly with stripper, let soak in for 5mins, scrub, then before the stripper dries, mop up with plain water? Think I got it :)

I guess I need the floor pretty dry though to start the dressing though
