Asphalt Floor - to screed or to plywood?

We want to lay engineered oak flooring to our ground floor, however, the substructure is lined with asphalt (done in the 70's or 80's).

The asphalt has areas of hollows and lumps and ideally we want to level this out.

So my question is:

Should I ply line it with 6mm (or 9mm or 12mm) plywood (glue it to the asphalt)?

OR

Use F-Ball, neoprene P131 primer + Green bag + 114?

Screed mate, the Ashpalt is a damp proof membrane.
So any cracks in it could cause problems in the future so make sure it's in good condition.

Make sure you use the primer neat. Prime it then let it dry about 2-3 hours then screed it.
