Am clearing a house at the moment and sending stuff to the local sale-room.
I am amazed at the charges made before my "Balance Payable" is arrived at.
These include, ( on my Gross Sales total of £30), VAT inclusive commission £6.12..Lotting fee £12. Vat on charges £2.40 So out of my £30 which the goods brought I am left with a cheque for £9.48 !!
Or these charges the norm, if so I think I'm in the wrong job.

Or have a 'yard sale' as the Americans have it.

Put them on Fleabay, Gumtree , or find a local group on Facebook that allows you to advertise things for sale etc. ;)

OK. I was just wondering if any-one had any idea that these charges were nation-wide or are we being ripped off only at this spot ?

Whenever I think something's expensive I try to think role reversal. EG that taxi charged me £3.50 just to take my wifes heels down the pub, saves us walking. Well would I get in my car, pull up, knock the door, wait, then drive someone a mile up the road for three and a half squid?? Not likely.
Put another way I have some stuff worth 30 dabs. Would you mind..........
