Driveway scratches - possible solution?

Hi,

I have two scratches along my drive which are less than a cm wide and deep but the scratch is quite long.

I was told but not sure if it'll work. But if i gather enough tarmac chippings from along the road, fill the scratch and use a blow torch to melt them into place.

What do you guys think? Thanks
