Hi all - in need of some advice

I have just picked up a second hand limestone fire surround - which consistes of
Heart, lintel, mantel and two pillars.

Problem I have is one of the pillars is still bonded to the mantel

so I cant actually get it through to front door safely due to weight .

looks like it was stuck with something flexible maybe even silicone ?

as it had that all over the other bits that have come apart - but when it was transported it has been lifted as a horizontal L shape but it didn't come apart so I'm wondering whether that would suggest something stronger - like a quick bond cement ?

I don't want to go mad by forcing it apart because I"m sure I"ll damage it .

Does anyone have any bright ideas how I can achieve this please

Examine the top end of the other pillar to see if there are any fixings such as dowels or sockets that have sheared when that pillar separated from the mantel. Check the mantel for any signs of fixings as well.

If there are dowels then the pillar will only come away from the mantel in the direction of the dowel.

There may be a concealed I shaped reinforcing metal plate across the join.
