Desperately need some help putting up a kitchen cupboard :(

The cupboard itself is fine, it's just getting it on the wall that's the problem. The wall is an interior wall on a house built in 2005. The wall seems to be a layer of plaster and then a layer of metal mesh. the plaster is about 1cm deep and anything that I try to get into the wall hits the wire and refuses to go any deeper.

I've tried metal plaster board Piranha fixing anchors for plaster board but the gap between the two sides of wall isn't big enough to accommodate the plugs

Also tried driva plaster board fixings but the wall just crumbled and then as soon as it hit the wire , that was it!

Please help!!!

Have you tried drilling other holes a few inches below (in what will be an area hidden behind the cupboard)? It may be that the mesh is protecting something such as pipes or cables.
