Worktop cut-out size for hob?

D

Hi, want to replace our electric hob with a gas one while retaining the existing worktop. The manual for the existing hob says the cut-out size is 560 x 480mm - is this a standard cut-out size? Will it be easy enough to buy a gas hob that will drop into the existing hole?

We will use a qualified person to run the pipework and plumb in.

Cheers, DM.

Many are similar size but no standard size. You will nee to check before purchase, obviously you can make aperture a little larger is required.

If you need to make it smaller, fix a batten to the big hole.
You can then get stainless steel or Ally & make a border..or similar.
It can be sorted.

We have just had ours replaced and they are not all the same size so it is best to check the sizes before buying. It may be easier to spend a little more money and get one that fits exactly.

Thanks for all your replies, I'll endeavour to get one the same size, if not I'll enlarge/reduce the hole as per your suggestions.

Cheers, DM.
