Hi all,

Is someone able to advise or quote the exact wording from the regs about the pressure release pipe work from a combi boiler for me please.

We have have had 2 quotes that have not even mentioned it and then a third today who doesn't think he will be able to fit the boiler as he is unable to get the pipe work outside.

The issue is that there is absolutely no way to get the pipe work outside. The current pressure release valve pipe work runs in about 3 metres of copper before entering an upstand on our 40mm kitchen sink drainage it then runs in about 1 metre of 40mm plastic before entering an internal stack and onto the underground drain. The guy today said this no longer meets regs and I just want to understand why and if there is an alternative given the situation, or any flexibility to allow for situations like this.

The boiler is on the shared wall of our semi detached house but is surrounded by other rooms. Moving the boiler isn't an option!

Thanks gas service thats great news.

Dan - in terms of moving the boiler its a bit more than unpalatable and therefore really becomes not an option.

The only place it could go to get to an external wall would mean we need a new watermain laying from the street to the house (we have a shared main at the moment, all the heating pipework changed, including diging up the kitchen floor to do this and all the water pipework as well.
