Hi

I have a Sime Format c combi boiler and it's currently not working properly, the problem is as follows

It fires up but after approximately 2mins it stops, then after 3mins it re-starts and the process repeats.

The radiators in the house get fairly hot but the house feels generally cold, the hot water taps and shower seem unaffected.

I've just put the thermostat on max and it stayed on for 9mins before switching off.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Neil

Have you measured the flow and return temperatures?

Sorry I know literally nothing about boilers, wouldn't know what I was supposed to be measuring :S

I thought that you were hoping you might be able to fix it yourself.

In that case you will need a competent boiler engineer to diagnose the fault for you.

Many don't like working on Sime boilers. I am going to one tomorrow though!

Sounds like you have poor flow into the central heating.
The heat isn't getting away from the boiler.
Could be the pump but the water is fine so I'd look to a problem in the central heating in the house.
