How do I reduce the temperature for my thermostat when i only use the Central heating on manual - not pre-settings? It's currently at 21 degrees (by accident) and I want to bring it down to 19.5. help! The diagrams and instructions are all too much for me!!! Thankyou

Press the - button until it says 19.5. 
Thanks ... and at the moment I press the - button to switch the heating off manually - and make sure the number goes below the thermostat temperature and then the gas is switched off. I don't seem to be able to change the thermostat temp.

The reading on the screen before you touch any button is the current room temperature.
As soon as you press the + or - button the display changes to the "setting" temperature.
After you have finished setting the temperature,(19.5 in your case) the display goes back to showing the current room temperature.
Simple as that, nothing more, nothing less
