Hello,
We have a Vaillant EcoTec boiler. Our hot taps are producing nothing more than a dribble of hot water despite operating perfectly fine for the last couple of years. There has been a gradual degradation in the bathroom taps, and then suddenly all hot taps in the house are now suffering the same fate. We have no usable hot water taps, it trickles from all of them. We have had a Vaillant engineer out who said that its a plumbing issue rather than a boiler issue so he couldn't fix it. We remain unconvinced. Any ideas???!![/list]

Low mains water pressure?
You could try your water supplier and ask them- i would start there.
Also-
Have you got isolation valves for the intake / output at the boiler? (the one you operate with a flat screwdriver) Check they are open fully, your pipes could be restricted by limescale too so thats worth looking at too if you have no joy still.

Hi

Heat exchanger blocked, pipe work limescaled or incoming mains restriction.

HTH

Thanks both.
The cold water mains is pretty good - the same pressure it's always been. Only the hot water is affected. After a bit of research (on this site), somebody had a similar problem with a different make of boiler and they found it to be the flow regulator. Onto Vaillant again tomorrow.......

Ps. Forgot to mention, both valves are fully open - the engineer checked that they were in the right position - it was the first thing he checked!
