Halstead CLUB HE18 Anygood?

Hi,

Can anyone advise if the above system boiler is any good? Can pick one up for under £300 with the flue.

Internally it looks very much like a Glowworm Ultracom

Nope, didn't get an email. Spotted it on an auction site.

I found they did come with a 10 year warranty before Glen Dimplex bought Halstead out.

Just wanted some feedback if they are worth bothering with or not as I am looking to replacing an aging Ideal Classic FF340.

Give Atmos a ring. They're attached merchants is selling Dimplex version off cheap. I think with a 5 year warranty.

Still worth a shot but it might not be as good a deal if you are a non account holder.

Do you think I would be better off sticking with my Classic? I understand they isn't very much to go wrong with them. (It had a new fan nearly 3 years ago and an expansion vessel and pressure gauge about a year ago)

The cheap boiler I saw was on ebay... £270 inc delivery.. Item 151387439898.

Dimplex specialises in buying firms with difficuties.

They made a lot of publicity after buying Halstead but now seem to have given up on them.

Apart from not being seen as very good boilers, I would not trust any warranty to be honoured.

Buy cheap...

I will hang onto my Classic until it breaks then replace it with something half decent.
