Hi there

Just got a new house with a Potterton boiler, standard hot water tank setup

The previous owners were rarely there, I think this means sometimes things haven't been used and degraded

My issue is that turning on the hot water brings the central heating on as well, sifting through the internet tells me it's my motorised valve that's the problem, is that right? Are there any checks I can do?

Do I just need to change the motor?

Could you elaborate on what the issues might be or do you think really this is something that I should get a proper engineer to look at?
