I'm a new DIYer and very inexperienced.

My spare downstairs toilet is a state.

I plan to:

1) remove radiator
2) remove corner sink
3) fill in wall and any imperfections
4) get toilet removed by plumber (*SEE BELOW)
5) tile the floor
6) paint walls
7) get new toilet installed by plumber
8) install new sink
9) install new radiator

I've been told by plumber that waste pipe is concrete. It can be cut back with an angle grinder apparently. Then a flange fitted and a new toilet.

I want to do this in two parts. So after toilet removed I can tile floor. Then a few days later get plumber back to re install toilet.

Does this sound reasonable?
How much would you estimate this work to cost?

I've not done anything like this before so its all new.

Any other advice?

Thanks

If you are talking about clay socket pipe sticking out of floor, you can cut back flush as long the inner pipe surface is undamaged, and about 4 inches diameter.

Daniel.

I'm talking about the pipe just to the left. It goes into the wall.

I want the toilet removed but the pipe is solidly sealed on to the toilet and according to plumber, it needs an angle grinder to cut the pipe.

I see. Best way is to carefully smash the toilet pan and remove it.

The pipe behind is cast iron and depend of what new toilet is it, best leave to plumber to make connect to new toilet.

Daniel.

If your Plumber thinks that soil pipe is concrete I would look for a different Plumber

CORRECTION:

Sorry everyone, I meant to write "cast iron".

I told you I was a newbie!
