my boiler will not light, anybody any idea why. it si about 10 years old.

its not my boiler, its my b-in-law, thats all he told me

If you cannot answer simple questions about then I dont think we are going to be able to help you.

Why not get him to post the details?

Sorry, I did not try to deceive anybody I thought it would be easier to say it was my boiler. He says it goes thro a start up routine and stops on a fume light, if this makes sense. He is not on the internet thats why I posted it for him

That sounds like a flame failure lockout.

That will need a registered gas engineer as we cannot give DIY repair advice on a forum.

In any case the diagnosis is likely to be beyond a DIYer.
