Hi I have a Mexico Boiler which I am told is somewhere in the region of 20 years old.
Basically, the pilot light does not stay on. I can get a spark and if I hold in the button a blue flame appears, until I release the button.
I had a gas chap look at it and basically advised it was a new boiler, as the gas value is faulty but won't be available as a part anymore.
When I say look at it, I mean bent down opened eyes and said mmmm looks like the gas valve is faulty. No static checks whatsoever.
Having read other posts we could be looking at the thermocouple, pilot and the valve, probaly in that order? Please advise?
I have contacted a Honeywell and it seems I can buy a V4600A 1023 valve quite easily.
Can anyone confirm if I am being a bit paranoid that this should / could be an easy fix?
Should I just get another gas engineer?
